Bali temples worth the trip from Ketewel

Temples are the heart of Bali, and Ketewel's central-south position makes it a sensible launch point for the best of them.

Closest and easiest are the coastal and village temples around Sanur and Ketewel itself — perfect for a half-day when you don't want a long drive. Ask us about local ceremonies; witnessing one, respectfully, is often the most memorable part of a trip.

For an iconic sunset, Tanah Lot sits offshore on a rock formation about an hour and a half west — go late afternoon and stay for the light. To the north, the lakeside Ulun Danu Beratan looks like it's floating on the water and pairs well with the cooler mountain air of the highlands.

Further east, the split gate of Lempuyang — the famous 'Gates of Heaven' — frames Mount Agung on a clear morning. It's a longer drive, so treat it as a full-day outing and leave early to beat both traffic and the queue.

Whatever you visit, dress modestly and bring a sarong. When you stay with us, we're happy to help arrange a trusted driver — just message us on WhatsApp once your dates are set.
